1.1. Notation of Chords
There are many ways to notate guitar chords and everyone has their own personal preferences, but to standardize the songbook we suggest that you only use the established notation. This will make learning easier for beginners and ensure that our system highlights chords correctly.

Place the chords exactly where the strings are struck, that is, immediately before the word, or at the beginning of the syllable that is struck, or immediately after the word. Stick to the original key. If you use a capo, include this information in the documentation.
Before sending your study or correction, use the preview function to check that everything is correct.
1.2. Chord Notation
In our songbook we use Polish chord notation used in most Polish tourist, rock and religious songbooks. Example:Chord | Polish name | English notation | English name |
---|---|---|---|
C |
It's hard | C |
C major |
Cis |
Cis-Dur | C♯ / D♭ |
C♯ major |
fis |
in the Pier | F♯m /G♭m |
F♯ minor |
B |
B-Dur / Ais-Dur | B♭ /A♯ |
B-flat major |
H |
H-Dur | B |
B major |
h |
h-Moll | Bm |
B minor |
Chords in English notation will be automatically translated to the correct format. To improve the conversion, in this case, select the "American notation" option in the "Chord notation" field.
1.3. Comments
In some cases, you can include comments in the text with additional information about the performance of the song.
Jolka, Jolka, do you remember summer from your dreams,
When you wrote: I feel so bad,
{guitar solo}
Just break away, do something with me,
Don't leave me here alone, oh no.
1.4. Repeating chords
In paper songbooks, to save paper, the chords were often written only for the first verse. In our songbook, we require repetition of chords over all verses and all chorus repetitions. Thanks to this, even on small devices such as a phone or tablet, the chords will be visible at all times.
1.5. Complete text
In the case of repeated fragments of lyrics, do not cut off the chorus like: "So come paint...", just copy and paste the entire chorus again. This also makes it easier to play with automatic scrolling. Don't write "chorus x 4", but insert its text four times.1.6. Song title
In this field, we only provide the title of the song in its original spelling, without any additional information. According to the rules of the Polish language, only the first word of the title is written with a capital letter ( more information on the PWN dictionary website ).
